Ageing lasts three years and takes place in oak barrels hidden away in the cellars where the temperature is the same all year round. Their oenologist keeps track of the wine’s progress with frequent tastings, decanting when required to ensure perfect maturation. The result is a very long-lived wine with ample perfumes and extraordinary complexity of bouquet a wine which reflects its terroir and the dedication of its producers...

The Le Chiusure Farm is located in Portese, a small village close to San Felice del Benaco, only a few hundred meters from the shore of Lake Garda. Winegrowing has always played an important role in Cortina s.s.d.v. from time immemorial. Good soil and a mild alpine microclimate contribute to the growth of grapes of excellent quality. The farm ‘Pietroso’ started in Montalcino in the 1970s thanks to the passion of winemaker Domenico Berni. His aim was to produce a limited quantity of fine wines such as Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino. Today the business is run by family member Gianni Pignattai who also has the expertise of Alex Dondi, an enologist and Lucio Maruotti, an agronomist.
