Corte Lenguin

Corte Lenguin

Corte Lenguin

From the peaks of Monte St Urbano and La Masua, down to the sweeping plains of San Floriano, the vines of Corte Lenguin extend over 10 hectares and here in the community of San Pietro in Catiano and also Marano, St Ambrogio Fumane and Negrar, indeed in the vibrant beating heart of one of Italy's greatest classic wine producing regions, The Valpolicella, the Corte Lenguin winery finds its natural home.

The passion of Silvio Vantini the founder of Corte Lenguin for tending his fertile soil, which he established in the 1900s has been, through the years, handed down, first to his son Lorenzo, then to Silvio's nephew also called Silvio. Today Corte Lenguin is a perfect blend of progressive, future-facing wine techniques, coupled with immense respect for the adherence to the rustic ways and means of aquiring the maximum flavour and body for its range of fine wines.

To create the optimum environment the wines are matured using Slovenian and French Oak barrels. The vines are situated around 250-300 metres above sea level. The healthy sun-kissed vines of the Corvina Veronese, Rondinella and Molinara varieties are ready for harvesting in September. The best grapes are selected by hand.

As soon as the fermentation is completed of the dried grapes for the Amarone, selected lots of Valpolicella are then re-passed on the Amarone pomace, thus initiating a second fermentation which increases slightly the alcoholic content and gives this fine Italian red wine deeper colour, increased extract, and more complex aromas. After 6 months bottle-ageing, the result i a rounded, velvety wine with rich, complex aromas of berries and an impressively lenghty finish thast seems to linger forever.
